Kananaskis
Country, is a less travelled area of the Canadian
Rockies and still only a short drive from the
more popular areas of Banff and Lake Louise. It
is located just outside Banff National Park on
the way to Calgary. To get to the location of
the hike turn off on the Kananaskis Highway at
Kananaskis and drive to the Upper Kananskis Lake
in the Kananaskis Provincial Park.
After a few weeks of hiking in the Lake Louise
area, in the Kananaskis we saw more wildlife,
and less people and the scenery was just as breathtaking.
This is a three day hike that took Dan, Lenah
and myself through forest, mountains, and a spectacular
ridge walk. |
