The
Fay Glacier is in Alberta, Western Canada, above
Moraine Lake, in the valley of ten peaks.
This is a three day hike that took Dan, Lesley,
Lenah and myself from the forests of Kootenay
National Park, up to the spectacular Fay Glacier,
and then down again to Moraine Lake in Alberta.
The trail starts in British Columbia at Marble
Canyon on the Banff Windermere Hwy. The hike travels
through Kootenay National Park on the first and
second day before crossing over to Banff National
Park for the last day where you descend down to
Moraine Lake.
The first day follows a well troden trail up to
the beautiful Fay hut. Day two and three involves
snow and glacier traversing with a moderately
technical descent back to Moraine Lake. |
